The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a joint organization of German universities for the promotion of international scientific cooperation and academic exchange. Using funds from the Federal Foreign Office, the DAAD promotes and arranges long-term lectureships at universities worldwide.
In the long-term lecturer program, lecturers are placed at locations that were planned and set up in cooperation with the respective host universities and the Federal Foreign Office. The funding period is initially two academic years and can be extended to a maximum of five in agreement with the host university.

- Representation of the respective subject in teaching and research at the host university within the framework of the higher education regulations of the host country
- Member of the teaching staff with all associated rights and duties, e.g. participation in committees, administrative tasks and advisory functions
- Contact person for university members of all disciplines for contacts to scientific institutions in Germany, advice on study and research opportunities as well as scholarship and funding programs of German science-promoting institutions, especially within the framework of the DAAD programs

- citizenship of a member state of the European Union (EU)
- Relevant degree or relevant professional qualification and initial teaching experience
- Interculturally open-minded
- Enjoyment of communication, organization and improvisation
- Knowledge of the national language of your target country is an advantage
